Steve and Marjorie Harvey Endowed Scholarship | Spelman College
This scholarship was created to fill a need at Spelman College. The scholarship is available to female juniors and seniors who are at risk of not completing their education due to a disruption in personal funding. The Harvey's thought it imperative to create a scholarship that would help keep deserving young women in school, and help them achieve their ultimate goal of graduating from Spelman.

Eligible candidates must be full-time junior or senior level students with financial need and academic merit as determined by the Spelman Program Administrator. The scholarship is renewable for junior level recipients through their senior year, as long as the selection criteria are met.

Tatianna Shepard Hometown: New York City, NY Class: Senior Major: English Career Goal: Civil Rights Attorney Scholarship Amount: $10,000 Quote: “Words cannot express how blessed I am to have received your financial assistance. Due to your generous support, I will be able to complete my collegiate career at Spelman College. Without gracious donors like you, many students would be unable to pursue their dreams. Thankfully, I will be able.”

Ariel Thompson Hometown: Chicago, IL Class: Senior Major: Psychology Career Goal: Developmental Psychologist Scholarship Amount: $10,000 Quote: “Your gracious donation has allowed me to continue my education as a Psychology and English double major. Your support will help me achieve my goal of becoming a Developmental Psychologist.”

Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation Scholarships

By 2013, the Harvey's plan to establish two more scholarship programs via the Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation that will be awarded to students accepted into an accredited 2 to 4 year college or university.

 

First Generation Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to eligible young men and women who are first generation college attendees.

 

Girls Who Rule The World Scholarship

This scholarship will be available to young women who have completed the "Girls Who Rule the World" program.
